My design career started many years ago in the field of Visual presentation for department stores after attending Capilano College for Commercial Art in Vancouver, BC. I branched out on my own several years later and formed my own company, Allison Brodie Designs, and created window displays for thirty to forty businesses in Victoria and Sidney.
Along with my growing business, I taught art to children through my home studio for 7 years.
Fast forward!I have retired from my display business of thirty years and although I had painted throughout my career, now I have time to embrace my love of painting full time!
My work at the moment is experimental as I love to try new techniques and products. Recently I have been concentrating on my series of beach/sky pieces and my abstracts of found metals, plasters and other found objects.
I have been showing my work at The Gallery at Matticks Farm in Victoria and am happy to be a member of the Salt Spring Gallery of Fine Art. My work has found homes in Canada, the United States and parts of Europe.
