- ceramics and fused glass

Working in my studio is driven by my desire to make things that are both attractive and useful - a desire that has been with me since childhood. Seeing my creations put to use in people's daily lives connects me to my community in a very satisfying way. I love the natural qualities of the material. People have been making things out of clay and silica (mud and sand) forever and the processes by which they are transformed by fire is mysterious and enthralling. These simple materials are constantly offering me new potential. For me pottery is primarily about form and glasswork is about colour. My principal influences have been all Navajo potters, glaze master Ron Roy, glasswork masters Bob Leatherbarrow and Karl Harron.
